Hello and welcome to PutFiskeri
Today we are gonna be looking at Bombarda fishing
there are loads of bombarda floats on the market
I prefere Milo's Bombarda floats, thats no Secret!
They cast better then everything else I have tried
and they last longer, thats the primari reason why I pay the extra few dollers for the Milo float
This bombarda float is about 3 years old
At the time I made my first bombarda movie, I got a bunch of different floats
Here you can see how the cheap Abu floats look like
They did not last very long
The Milo float is as it was when I got it
You can see it have been used, but it fishes now as it did when I got it
You won't be fishing much with this
You can do this with em, away with em
The Milo float comes in many different classes
The big one here is floating, on the surface of the water
The next one places itself 1-10 cm under the surface
It have a red text printed on it, telling the depth
But the older floats all have black text, so make sure to read the lable before buying it
Most times you will know floats with red lable, equals 1-10 cm depth
Do it have a yello lable, it will sink to 25-50 cm depth OR 2-10 meters depth
So remember to read the lable, so you don't buy the wrong one
It would have been great if they had just stuck with, one color for each type of float
Next step is labled with blue, they go down to 1-2 meters
I have not seen any other depth labled with blue, but I would not trust it 100% so read the lable
The last float will sink 2-10 meters into the water
Depending on how long you let it sink, and what speed you reel it in with
Now what are we gonna be using all this for?
well
Are you fishing a lake with 2 meters depth, your floating float will be able to reach, all depth with a 3 meter rig
Are you fishing a 10 meter deep lake, your not gonna be able to reach very deep, with a surface float
Are the fish located on the bottom, then you wont catch anything
Are you fishing a 10 meter deep lake, and the fish is hunting at 4 meters
Then you take a float sinking to 2 meters, then with a 3 meter rig weight down
Then you can reach down to 4 meters, with out any problems at all
This way you can fit fishing to hit, the wanted depth with great presision, using Milo bombarda floats
There are also other bands on the market, who make different depth interval floats
Quantum makes some okay bombarda floats, but they are almost in price range with Milo
So I chooce to pay just a little more and get Milo floats
They have been tested and they have preformed okay, it's not bad floats and non of them have broken
It is of course a question about, what are you willing to pay for your things
The cheap 30 danish kroner float from Bilka, or do you want to pay 20 kr more and get something
that will last for years ............
It will last til you throw it away!
Milo have also made this new float NAUTILUS
I have talked with several who complain about, the low visability of the clear milo floats
They look like the water
I don't totaly agree with this ... but okay fair enough
With polarized glasses I find it's easy enough to see them
The new NAUTILUS ... It's very very easy to see
It's a Surface float and when you reel in, it will place it self horizontal
When you stop the float will tilt into, an upright position and you can easy see the neon top
As you start reeling again, it will turn back into the horizontal position
I have testet it and it works well, I have caught a many many fish with it
The foam top will not last in the long run, it's starting to peal/flake off and show use.
In the time you use this float I am sure you will learn, to look for the clear float and not only the neon top
It might not be out in all the tackle shops yet, but it's something most shop can get home for you.
We have now looked at the many floats, now we need a rig after the bombarda.
The rig is very simply just a 3 meter rig line, I use Quattron Fluro Carbon from Quantum.
The benafit from Fluro Carbon line is it's low visibility, it's nearly impossible for the fish to see in the water
Depending on your rod's length you make your rig to match it, Aim for a rig the same length as your rod
2-3 meters ... I aim for 3 meters.
I belive it gives the bait a more natural movement, thru the water and results in more catches.
I don't belive it's cos of the distance between, the rig and the float as I often have fish attack the float
So I don't belive the float spookes the fishes in general, I just belive the bait moves more natural thru the water.
with a longer rig, than with a shorter rig.
1 ..... 2 ..... 3 meters
My box with hooks
Typical I use a small single hook size 10 or 12, small hooks!
You can use bigger hooks too, in my previus videos I used Owner hooks size 6
I still use quality hooks, but I have moved to a smaller size
And a small hook can also hold a large fish
I use a whipping knot to tie the line to the hook
Take the hook with its back pointing up, Place the line over the eye and back of the hook
Let the line follow the curve/bend of the hook
Now twist the line around the hook, from the eye and up the shank
7-10 turns
Now take the end and put it thru the loop, thats made from the line following the hooks curve
Gently pull the long end of the line to close the loop, lubrikate it and now pull it hard to close it tight
now trim of the tag end of, leaving a few mm. line
Now you have a long line with a hook in the end
